PACT'S CREATION

PACT is a combination of school staff and parents who teamed up during the summer of 2001, just prior to the opening of the school's sixth year.  We felt it was imperative to solicit support for a real auditorium on the SSHS campus.  After many years of walking over taped power cords (for garbled microphones and sound), sitting on metal fold-up chairs (in a cramped room), as well as maneuvering around people's heads to see the stage show, we thought it was time to make a difference!

PACT's belief is that performing and associated arts are essential to well-educated individuals and to society!  The future state-of-the-art auditorium will not only be created for the school's use but also the entire community.  

We are extremely pleased and greatly appreciative that the Simi Valley Unified School District, and its Board of Trustees, has unanimously approved the plan.  As a result, the community of Simi Valley, in a district-wide bond issue in March, 2004, approved $8.75 million for our endeavor.  However, an estimated $10 million is needed to complete the auditorium to state-of-the-art specifications, which means at least another $1.3 million is required.  

Therefore, Santa Susana High School's staff, students, parents, community and PACT hope you can assist us with this essential endeavor either by time or donations.

So much is still needed to make this dream a reality!!
